DINEOF stands for Data Interpolating Empirical Orthogonal Functions, and it is a technique to reconstruct missing data in geophysical datasets. It can also be used to detect outliers or suspect data. Because it uses a truncated EOF basis, noise is reduced in the reconstructed dataset.
